Ways to Donate
The Bridge to Life exists because of the generosity of individuals and organizations that support us through monetary and in-kind donations. Your donations are used to fulfill and expand our mission. A non-profit, 501©3 charity registered in New York State, all donations are tax-deductible.
Mothers are referred to Bridge by a social worker so be assured that you are helping the neediest women and children of New York City.
Individuals can make an in-kind donation of items or hold a group baby shower to benefit our mothers. We accept gently used or new maternity, baby and children’s clothes up to size 14, including shoes and coats.
We also accept children’s books, car seats, strollers, cribs, pack-n-plays, highchairs, bouncy seats and even infant tubs.*Hand-made blankets have also been gifted by donors.
*Please note that we cannot accept items such as car seats, cribs, highchairs, etc. that are not up to current safety codes.
Individuals and groups can make monetary donations by check or credit card. We offer the convenience to donate online by credit card as a PayPal guest or account holder. You can also participate in or organize a baby bottle campaign at your church or organization to raise funds, and we’ll provide the baby bottles! Check out our blog, BridgeChronicles to see our monthly gratitude list of organizations that held a special fundraiser for our families.
Do you wish you could give more? Consider becoming a monthly donor. A small monthly donation will enable you to give a larger amount without undue hardship. Contact the office to discuss the best way for you to give monthly.
Have you considered leaving a legacy? A bequest enables you to designate a portion of your estate to Bridge in your will. It’s the easiest planned gift to make. Your lawyer simply adds a codicil to your existing will designating a percentage or actual amount goes to The Bridge to Life, Inc.
This thoughtful legacy ensures that the cause you helped in life continues on afterwards due to your foresight and generosity.
Did you know individuals can make a contribution to Bridge in lieu of flowers at the passing of a loved one? Simply direct them to our online donation page and have them enter the loved one's name and who we should notify of their donation.
It’s hard to figure out the perfect gift to get someone and tastes change. So, why not make a donation to Bridge to commemorate their special day such as a birthday, wedding, etc.! We’ll send them a card letting them know of your donation in their name.
Getting married? Many brides and grooms are opting to make a donation to a favorite charity in lieu of favors. What an altruistic idea! Plus, we’ll provide the cards to give your guests.
Want to make this gift by check, just print and complete the donation form and send it to Bridge with your check. We’ll take care of the rest.
“The unselfish effort to bring cheer to others will be the beginning of a happier life for ourselves.”
— Helen Keller
Another way to donate is by the giving of your time and talents. The phrase “time is money” doesn’t escape us at Bridge since we would not exist if it weren’t for our outstanding volunteers.
We have on-site volunteers who sort donated baby clothes and items and who counsel women and families. Off-site volunteers print our letterhead and brochures and even design event invites, websites and our Bridge Crib newsletter.
Bridge is blessed to have long-time volunteers, but the need for new volunteers always exists, especially for strong men/women who can lift and move donations. If you can give a few hours a week or have a special skill you can offer, please contact the office or click here to view our volunteer needs on Volunteer Match.
Bridge knows the importance of enlisting the next generation in our mission to protect life. The following groups our Bridge’s means to engage local youth and motivate them to take up our mantel to save the unborn and help struggling mothers and children in their community.
Our youth face more difficulties in today’s world than past generations. The current social media culture makes it difficult for some to stay true to these beliefs with which they were raised.
Youth4Life is for youth ages 18 to 25 who want to achieve their goals, enjoy their formative years and maintain their beliefs. Leaders will discuss the difficulties this age group encounters from their peers and support the message of abstinence. Y4L members will offer each other support while engaging them in social activities and projects to build their confidence to become future leaders.
Bridge’s Leading Young Professionals (BLYP)
Young adults wishing to meet others outside of their professional circle and support a mission they believe in will want to be a member of BLYP. These young professionals will work with the board and use their varied talents to create their own initiatives to support Bridge and broaden our mission to their peers.
Networking, socialization and the happiness that comes from helping others will be the outcomes of their efforts. If you are or know someone age 25 years or above, come join Bridge’s Leading Young Professionals and be a part of the solution to protect families.
